The Fellowship of the Unashamed

So I have a good friend who is also serving an LDS mission out in Sacramento California - Elder Walker is his name. What a great guy he is.

We've been writing letters back and forth, trying to send eachother good stuff, and help one another grow spiritually. All that good jazz.

Now after him hearing about my call to serve in Panama, he sent me a quote that tops them all. Elder Henry B. Eyring summed up the proper missionary attitude better than I've ever heard it. He writes the following:

I am part of the fellowship of the unashamed. The dye has been cast. I have stepped over the line. The decision has been made. I am a disciple of Jesus Christ. I won't look back, let up, slow down, or be still. My past is redeemed, my present makes sense, and my future is secure. I'm finished and done with low living, small planning, smooth knees, color-less dreams, tamed visions, worldly talking, cheap giving, and dwarfed goals. I no longer need pre-eminence, positions, promotions, plaudits, or popularity. I don't have to be right, first, recognized, praised, regarded, or rewarded. I now live by faith, lean on His presence, walk with patience, am uplifted by prayer, and labor with power. My face is set, my gait is fast, my goal is Heaven. My road is narrow, my way is rough, my companions are few, my guide is reliable, my mission is clear. I cannot be bought, compromised, detoured, lured away, divided, or delayed. I will not flinch in the face of sacrifice, hesitate in the presence of adversity, negotiate at the table of the enemy, ponder at the pool of popularity, or meander in the maze of mediocrity. I won't give up, shut up, or let up until I have stayed up, stored up, and paid up for the cause of Christ. I must go till He comes, give till I drop, preach till all know, and work till He stops me. And when He returns for His own, he will have no problem recognizing me. My banner will be clear.

--Henry B. Eyring

...........

Ya, amazing right.

These latter day church leaders are inspired! I just love that so much.

I know that I was ordained to preach the truth before the world was. What an honor it is.

I am part of The Fellowship of the Unashamed.

Please join.

The truth will go forth no matter what you do, so better hop on quick! :)

The truth will go forth!

I was reading in the Bible Dictionary a few days ago, and a light dawned on me. And my mind was racing.

After reading, I became discouraged that everyone doesn't have the truth about life that I have.
But?
Much to my relief, in just a couple of short months, I'm going to have the opportunity to try to tell everyone about this truth. It will help control my discouragement I think.

In July, I received a letter from my church, and was called to serve a two-year mission to the country of Panama. Here, I will help people, just like you and I, learn of this truth.

This truth is the restored gospel of Jesus Christ.

I depart for Panama on November 16th, and I can't wait!
